Or a streamer rod for browns dubbed "the fudge packer"
"DeathStar" isn't even a real name...who the hell decided that's the best thing to call it anyway!?
this, on the other hand, is:
How about "Bane of Mykiss"
Or simply, Mykiss Bane
I'd pair it with a cabernet.
I never thought fly fishing needed terms like "Death Star" or "Terminator". The pastime is changing and in my opinion for the worst if this is what we use to describe our equipment.
I will probably be labeled an elitist for this.
Not liking the moniker is hardly a character flaw. Most people I know who flyfish (and don't visit web forums) have no idea a bunch of nerds call this rod a Deathstar. I think you and the sport are safe....for now.
(In my best Dr. Evil voice) MWAHAHAHAHA
So deathstar is a nickname and not the actual name of the rod? I get it now. I think. I'm not much into gear. The two rods I fish the most were custom made and I don't even know on what blanks. I think one is a Rainshadow blank. Or maybe a Dark Shadow or Death Shadow.
I wouldn't say elitist.
You just sound grumpy to me.
Nate Treat's tears cure cancer. Too bad he never cries.
I too am made of bananas.
This is now the only response needed for death star and indicator threads:
for what they cost they should be called ,Pride & joy
The "Deathstar" was so named by George Cook, the Sage/Rio rep who I believe was one of the first to use one when they came out a few years ago. If you know or have listened to George speak, you know he has a gift for hyperbole and a great sense of humor.
