I've been tieing some flies using elk hair and after combing out the underfur was left with the question, "is this useful for tying as it should float."

Anyone save this stuff and tie with it? I figure it's like the aftershaft feather on pheasants and grouse....normally thrown away but useful if in a large enough quantity.

If it's useful I'll comb Santa's reindeer when he makes his annual trip in 25 days.
