    I took this this AM when I was checking the Teanaway on my backlot. Note my fly line in his rack. I got him all the way to the bank and he broke off!

    There were seven of these bruisers together making their way down for a drink.

    Red Copper John?? Looks like you needed a 2X Stout for the hook.

    I didn't think the Teanaway was open to "elking" this month, even CNR. Nonetheless, I think the proper tippet for elk is one size up from what I use for landing VWs.

    I was using a piece of yarn as the river is no open to catching at this time.

    Shouldn't those boys be losing their racks pretty soon? You might try a floating line next time to keep it out of that rack....hmm, maybe I have it wrong, was that your floating line? Full sink might be the ticket.

    I think you are further ahead with 165 grains of interbond or 100 grains of 4 bladed muzzy.
