I'd love to ask you some questions about it. Gorgeous place.
Is that a sliding shade off to the left? Odd look'n place. Reminds me of a similar design bird coup my Dad built for my pet magpie when I was a kid.
When I saw the thread title, I was expecting an 'off-the-grid' style hobbit hole. That thing is sweet.
I read an article about that place......I will see if I can recall the info.
I have a pretty good idea who might...
maybe the same outfit that designed these on the Methow
Yes. Same guy... Olsen Kundig.
LOL! Works for me.
those are sweet
We have friends who just built a Kundig designed house in the Methow-incredible house! Kundig is also building a cabin for himself and a couple of partners who are builders on the skyline in Mazama which has raised the hackles of several of the locals-lots of letters to the editor in the Methow Valley news about it! Rick
FYI: My buddy Steve Casimiro does a regular report on unique, beautiful cabins around the world -- including several from Washington.
Well, it's definitely above the flood plain.
Yep Kundig http://www.treehugger.com/green-architecture/built-stilts-tom-kundigs-sol-duc-cabin.html
If I tried to build a house like that, the building code people would say I would need to change that ladder to the loft, to real steps to code! Rules are probably slack up in Forks!!
