I tie this guy to represent two different bugs. A caddis emerger or a midge emerger. If you prescribe to the bubble theory for caddis emergers, the white head may be mistaken for a bubble. As a midge emerger, the white head alludes to the gills.
Geez, it's too easy for a SBS. It's just a white bead head soft hackle tied with very small, buggy chenille that was first developed in Italy. I'm tying some now with a more of an medium olive body and a clear glass bead with a silver lining. In a size 18-20, they work to imitate BWO emergers during the winter months.
