    Emerger swap update

Steve S's pretty little CDC caddis emergers arrived in today's mail so I've now got everyone's flies on hand. I'll try to get 'em split out and in the mail by Saturday at the latest.

Got 'em all divided up and ready for tomorrow's mail. Very nice bunch of flies as I hope you'll all agree. A special thanks to Randy Diefert for so generously tying THREE separate patterns for each of us and another special thanks for those of you who contributed extras for the Swapnazi.

Flies are all in today's mail. Local guys should get theirs tomorrow. Randy, I included the tape in your envelope.

Thanks again to all for a wonderful swap. You've all given me some interesting ideas for new patterns.

Say, my digital camera doesn't take closups very well and the scans I made from earlier swap flies didn't turn out well. Does anyone wanna volunteer to take some pics of these guys and post 'em in the Gallery?

    Kent,

Someone needs to check the record books. A swap that is wrapped up early! That's got to be a first.

If no one minds, I'll do the photo duties for this one. Vickie got me a new Nikon for being such a wonderful husband and I love using it for fly photo's. Actually, now that I think about it, the first pics I took with that camera were VEE's spider pics. Hmmmm, maybe that wonderful husband stuff was a smokescreen.

Thanks again all. This swap was a real pleasure. And thanks REE for volunteering to take the pics. I can't wait to see 'em.

A client/fishing buddy was just over to talk business and noticed I had the swap flies arranged on a board so I could admire them. He's an accomplished tyer but just gushed about how good these patterns were and how bad he felt for not joining. 'Oh well', I told him . . .

    Hey Kent,
Thanx for the great swap. This was my first. Is it to much to dream that they will all be this smooth. I hope not. Can't wait to see what comes back. Thanx for the extras Randy.

The flies arrived about 45 minutes ago. Kent, I don't blame your buddy for getting all gushy. These are some nice looking flies. The pics should be up in the swap gallery this afternoon. For the benefit of those not in the swap maybe we could all post the recipe for the flies. If the fly is toe tagged with the tiers name I'll include that. If it's a loose fly you'll have to claim it as your own.

Thanks to all the participants for tying for this one, and a special thanks to Kent for running such a smooth swap. Nicely done.

    Jesse,

Nikon Cool-Pix 4800. Very nice macro capability. It focuses to within 4/10ths of an inch. The back ground is blue matte board that VEE uses to mat her paintings and such. She gave an 11 X 14 piece of blue, green and white to use as a background. If you like I can post a picture of my set up.

I got the Coolpix 3200 for Christmas, I really like it too. I am getting good fly pics but I don't have the lighting quite figured out yet. I am getting heavy shadows on some of the shots. You can see what I mean if you look at the Articulated leech swap pix in the gallery. I am still experimenting.
