ok ill try that and post to see what the peps think of it.
here i tried a few of the tips. tell me what you think.
those are good! id probably shorten the tails up a bit, especially if your fishing lakes. all the stalkers seem to hit the flies with short strikes. this cause you to miss many. otherwise its really good. especially with the hackle.
if your gonna fish streams and rivers id try and tie up some pheasant tail nymphs. they arnt very hard. all you need is pheasant tail, and if you dont have peacock herl, than you can substitue it with black dubbing or ice dubbing. but if your gonna fish lakes, tie up some black cronomids. all you need for that is a beedhead, scud hook, black tying thread(which would be used to make the body), and tinsel or copper wire to secure the thread and for design.
but if your gonna fish lakes, i prefer weighted streamers over any other fly. usually beadhead wooly buggers
I think the length on the black and purple is right about how I try to tie mine. The brown may be a bit long, but there is no reason to think that those flies won't get your line streched. Are you going to sit at the tying vise and your computer for all your time off or are you going to fish?
gone fishing i think its a nice day out. try to go here on base and try my new flies. ill take pics and post with the flies and the set up i got. ty ed. well off to fish i go...
ok im back and i had a little fun. the wooley with the long tail got a lot of hits but no fish. the wooley worm tore it up.someone else post something nice.
that one is great
I finally mastered the whip finish
what you think?
K.H - come up on one of the nights we have a Kitsap get together and we can tie some flies. I was always best able to learn by watching others.
well is there a board that is posted on these get togethers? i would love to come and tie some up. theres always new things that could help me out along the way to tie newer and better flies.
its been about a month since the last one. i usually post them on the main page. Wer have mumbles little deal tomorrow night to exchange flies but i usually have them in thursday nights in Poulsbo at Voodiez on front street. Maybe in 2 weeks or so i will have another. just watch the main board and you'll likely see it.
Hello everyone, been at the vice today and thought i'd tie a parachute, i have only started tying again in the past 3 weeks or so, i did however tie flies about 4 or 5 years ago but gave up, any way here it is.
