First Steelhead - and a thanks

#1
I've been lurking on the boards here for quite a while, and I wanted to pass on my thanks to the many helpful posters, here. I've learned a lot reading the advice given by "the experts".

Some of that advice helped me get my first Steelhead on a fly this past weekend. Nice 5 pound NF Stilly native. I'm definitely hooked now.

Very cool! I remember how excited I was about my first, and so far only, steelhead. Enjoy the buzz.

That's what I've been doing up there so far this summer. Just got lucky on Saturday. Now, if I can just get as lucky every time I go out...wait...okay...I'm back to reality now. But I'm sure I'll catch another some day.

WTG griz... :beer2: I got my first Steelhead on the upper Sky last year because of some help from Matt Burk here on line. These guys rock, and definitely deserve honorable mention. I'll second the praise for the list.

Thats, awsome! Tell us the story...presentation, fly, how you felt moments before, during and after. Did you remember the water type, weather and clarity? Take notes and this won't be your last fish...and they will soon come with more frequency. Really share the details, I'm sure the guys would really appreciate a "My First Steelhead" story in depth.

Be proud you deserve it....

Congrats! I think everyone remembers their first steelie. I got into my first on the Sky years back with a buddy of mine who eventually went on the start his own guide service.
