Me and a buddy took our first shot at some warmwater action yesterday after work. We rented a rowboat from UW and headed out toward some docks and riprap walls. Everything was going well, him fishing a popper, me a maroon bunny leech until about 30 minutes into our trip. The wind changed direction on us and seriously picked up. We were getting blown around like crazy. We fished a bit longer battling the wind before packing it in and paddling against the wind for 30 minutes to get back to the launch. All in all, 2 hours on the water and no action at all. We learned a couple things in the process and will be trying again. I'll be trying out a small local lake for bass in the near future too, out of my kickboat.
