I have a grain scale made for reloading. It was very inexpensive way back then, a low grade model. Since fly lines are rated in grains, I just roll up the first thirty feet around my fingers and bind them together with a twist tie. Then sit the bundle of line on the pan of the scale, leaving the rest of the line sitting on the table or on the reel. I know it sounds funky, but since this isn't exactlly rocket science, you get close enough. Got a friend who does some reloading?
