I am trying to figure the regs out, like I said in an earlier post, they leave the regs vauge so as to make them up along the way, again, only my opinion. On pass lake it is flyfishing only but when you look at the definition of terms it says blah blah, also refer to the special gear rules, now pass lake has been no motors at all, but now the regs say any lake that is special gear rules you can have a trolling motor now, am I trippin or what, can anyone clarify for me thanks....RJ:confused:

I would have to kindly disagree FF. Pass lake "motors prohibited". Per the definition of "motors prohibited" - "Fishing from a floating device equipped with a motor is prohibited."

Are you sure that it's not just Gasoline Motors?

For Pass Lake, the regs say "motors prohibited."

The definition of Fly Fishing Only doesn't say anything about "Special Gear Rules" or "Selective Gear Rules" (which I assume you meant to say). The rules for Pass Lake are Catch & Release, Fly Fishing Only, and Motors Prohibited. Can it get any simpler?

Mr. Rice - Note that the regs specifically denote internal combustion engines, which means that you can use electric. Motors prohibited is just that - no motors combustion or electric.

Each of the *species* are listed when required. None of those things are general terms. The front of the regs explains what each of the columns mean. Those definitions are never vague, so when in doubt just assume more restrictive, not less restrictive regs.

ONCE AGAIN, just because you see someone doing something DOESN'T mean it is legal. If you follow an offenders example you are no better than they are. Read your regs or call WDFW for an interpretation.
