I finally finished building up my RPL 8100 replacement blank from Sage and now want to try my hand at a spey rod. I'm hearing nothing but praise for the Sage VXP 6129 so that's what I've narrowed my focus towards. Anyone out there use any of the Forecast series reel seats on a 2-hander and can provide recommendations for specific appropriate models? The I series look really cool, but are they better suited to single hand rods or does it even make a difference?

Thanks in advance,

I've used Forecast components in the past, and really like them. I have not used the I series. I have built a couple of spey rods, the big thing is to be sure the ID of the insert is wide enough for the large circumference of the spey rod. With the I series you are at 0.480 whereas with the RA8.5 series you are at 0.650. I would be tempted to get the Alps8.5L2 myself.
