Itchy, I see Ruffies in my Duvall neighborhood, too. I need to get out and whack a few.

Nice pic-- beautiful old 870-- like my 1st 20 ga. sometime shortly after the last ice age.
Question: i'm working with two young flatcoats-- have been in the Hancock forest up by N BEND, Some ruffed, but always sitting near the edgees of heavily treed areas. They flush and go into deep tree trunks --no chance. I grew up a duck and pheasant hunter, but I have decided to go for grouse and chukar now-- wild birds and lots of walking. If you were giving advice to a just-returning hunter from Vashon re: grouse-- could ya give a what/ where suggestion? I hear the Teanaway is not too bad for Blues-- and not too far from here, either. My fly-fishing fanatic son is in Bham ( now HE's the teacher, I'm the student), so I get up that way pretty often, too.
Thanks. I always enjoy your posts..

I noticed that too. I dunno what he had to be pissed at ME about. Heck he was trespassing on MY property. Geez, some birds...
