I had access to a small body of water out by Lake Francis. Supposedly there were fish planted in the last 5 years. I thru everything and the kitchen sink out there! intermediate, sink tip, floater - buggers, hares ear, chiros, leeches - black, brown, olive, tan - troll, strip - fast, slow. everything I could think of and nothing.
I saw no rises, no wakes, no fish swimming out from the shallows. Saw some casings on the surface.
Water is a typical west side boggy bottom, coffee stained lake.

and this was how I ended my day! but hey, it did not rain on me the two hours I was out.
Don't think I will try this body of water again.

    Happy holidays folks.

Same to you, dp - you got out on the water, so that's a win (and quite possibly a record-breaking leader macrame creation, lol.).

I think it is too long of a leader out of a float tube.

Love the leader shot! Like Jim says, you got out on the water! Best wishes and next time: tight lines!

I did one of those up on Back to the Wall. I had to cut it off the rod tip.

At least you didn't have to contend with someone else catching fish after fish, using the same fly, on the same setup, right next to you.

I went to Teal with another guy. My only hookup for the day was a turtle! He landed over a dozen. At one point we switched rods. It was just my day to get skunked.

Come to think of it, this has happened to my on other occasions as well. Maybe I'm just a bad fisherman? No, that can't be it.

Try cutting it off the tip of your 14-foot spey rod when you're at the sweet spot, belly button deep in the Thompson River and the air temperature is -10°C. ;-) Talk about "oops".
