Caught a break from the power washing we’ve been experiencing around Hood Canal lately, and walked some beaches on some calmer spots and clear water Friday and Saturday.

They were all about that surface action Friday, and were going nutty over the Popper. Ended up going 4 for 6 on the hook up in about an hour

Switched rods on Saturday, and fished some deeper water farther up north on the Canal. Dehlia’s Squid and a pink shrimp pattern my friend tied for me were attacked almost immediately each time on a sinking line.

A good couple of days of some brief peace and quite relief away from the relatives. I’m very thankful none of them are into fly fishing!

Great fish! Looking to hit the Canal this month for the first time (at least with a fly rod). Nice pictures!
