I'd like to see sea run Taimen introduced.
I would stop wading
It would be cool if there were native to this area...it seems like we have the right type of waters?
Taimen or browns? We don't have Russian gangsters who traffic in drugs, prostitution and guns scraping the resource in the name of sport, but the fish should do just fine without that harassment.
Got married in Iceland in October. Wanted to fish for sea-run browns SOOO badly. I even got the OK from the Wife. Never happened. I either established some bad precedent, or earned some BIG brownie points. Next time for sure.
I think we need to start killing seals so that they won't eat all of our SRC...bastids!
Might have been Fly Fisherman 'zine that asserted PNW steelhead eggs were transported to Patagonia, along with Euro Brown eggs/stock, by the British. I think that was the issue with Prez Jimmy Carter coping with a "two-armer" on the cover.
They also have established runs of Kings down there as well.
Mike Kinney used to have a pic of a sea run brown trout he pulled out of the NF Stilly in his photo book at creekside anglers.
I caught an Atlantic salmon at Plumb Landing on the Snoqualmie about 20 years ago. It was obviously from a net pen. The only Atlantic salmon I've ever eaten.
make my day , post a photo of Enlightened holding one
Of course if they do run they turn into something like this!
It's some of the toughest fishing I know. She's only managed one in the last three years, but it was a dandy. No pics. I had the camera across river. I think she still holds it against me for not swimming it over there, in November.
The Trinity. There are some monster browns in there. They scarf up all the fry that the hatchery releases.
I've fished for the browns, but never landed one. Caught steelhead and chinook though
