I've already done te SRC under an indicator - it works. It was hard to get them to not hit the indicator vs. the actual fly. So then I threw on one of the cast a bubbles (an indicator like thing that you partially fill with water that will cast a mile on one of my kids' snoopy rods) and an SRC hit the bubble numerous times on the retrieve, in the end, a marine worm like fly under an actual indicator works quite well for SRC. I just prefer the feeling of a strip strip strip BAM, fishon.

I have not, but I have had one of the best pacific salmon fly fishermen on the boat intent on catching a fish on a krill pattern. He eventually got one, but quickly switched to a baitfish pattern after watching his fishing partners catch fish after fish while he worked his ass off getting one on a krill pattern. The silvers out there do not target individual krill but swim through the schools either with their mouths open or taking big bites in the thick clouds of krill. My experience is that salmon feeding on thick krill are feeding in a way that makes matching the hatch pretty tough.

You don't have to worry about that as it will never happen. Giving up the three best parts of saltwater fishing (explosive visual takes, the feel of the grab, and a system that casts well) to stare at a bobber? I'd rather bucktail . The lure of seminar fame just doesn't cut it.

If this is the case, you are never going to get on the seminar circuit with a krill fly under a bobber.. What you want is a krillage, a hundred thousand krill flies attached to a large pool toy plastered with corporate logos and studded on its underside with gopros.

For those of you that know herring Dan, but don't know he had a heart attack about 3 or 4 months ago. He had a few stints put in and is doing find. I'm guessing he may not be as much of a curmudgeon, but who knows? Long live Herring Dan!

I saw him have an "episode" on the beach 2-3 years ago that resulted in him collapsing and paramedics showing up. I never noticed an improvement in his demeanor after that, so I doubt we'll see one this time but who knows. Glad he's alright though - he provides much entertainment. :D
