Hit Kitsap lake this morning for a few hours because its 5 minutes from my house and I had some new gear to try out. I wasn't really expecting anything but had a few nice surprises. First hook-up produced a nice 14" rainbow and the second brought an 18 incher to the net. Got them both stripping a brown bugger about 6' under the surface. Called it a day and kept the big one for dinner
I saw two rainbows in the sky on the way to the lake and knew it would be a good day. It was nice to christen the new 5wt with fish slime on the first outing with it. Mojo :thumb:
Good on ya. Now your gonna have to put up with Mumbles and Rob chasing your fish! It is always nice to have a surprise once in a while. My recent one was a 14" cut in a tea colored pond in Mason County - place doesn't have a name and I wouldn't likely name it anyway.
Rob could keep up with MtnWkr but that dude is way to fit for me to keep up with. He'd lose my sorry out of shape butt as soon as he hit a trail. Wait, there is a road around Kitsap Lake, and a couple of launches and docks. I could fish there! I hear you MB, I hear you!
Nice fish Josh, I know they've gotta be in there because I never see anyone fishing!!
