Finally got my hands on a 379LL and am looking to pair it with a Lamson LP1 Light (clicker). Shoot me a PM if you have one looking for a new home. Thanks...
I know you are partial to the Lamson, another option is the offering from
golfnfish - CFO lll. I have two anniversary reels that I fish on my LL's. Great
reels with a sweet clicker sound.
Don't be afraid of the size. It is a very light and narrow reel. I like a plus size
for additional backing(especially when fishing from boat).
The TR1 is 4 oz and the LP1 Light is 2.75 oz. The little bit of difference is noticeable with the smaller rods. I bought an additional LP1 (standard with drag) today, and am working on the above "Light" with the seller. I have a LP1-L currently, but it's lined for a 279LL and I'd really like to have a second for the 379LL as it is a hair better balance than the reel with a drag. Kind of splitting hairs at this point, but I figure if I'm going to have the rods...may as well make them as perfect as I can. I love the looks of the Abel reels, but have been a LP series fan since they were introduced. I fish primarily 20 year old Sage RPl's & LL's so the LP's are a perfect match.

not splitting hairs IMO. those little things may not matter to fish, but they do to me! i love the LP Light series! my LP-1L balances perfectly on my little 2wt Scott F652 and my LP-1.5L is nice on light 3 and 4wt rods. i'm very happy to have Finally found an LP-2L (that i have yet to spool with a line). i hope you enjoy that new LP-1L reel montanafos!
Never realized there is that much weight difference between the two. I had an LP 1 light but sold it many years ago. Still have a couple of LP 2s. These were nice reels and were shown in the Sage catalog with their rods years ago. I have several Sage RPLs and love them.
Fat Lady...sent one more PM your way. Consider the reel & spool sold. Just get me the total and I will get the funds sent.
