It has been too long since I posted a fishing report and figured I'd start back up with my 3-year old son's first fish on a fly rod! Hit the local fly fishing only lake that has a good population of 10-12" bows/cutts that seem very willing to chase a small baitfish pattern. To minimize unintentional piercings we primarily trolled and Liam did all the reeling after I'd set the hook; which I was a little rusty at and was not forgiven when a few slipped off the hook! I managed to keep him interested for 2.5-hours, an hour and a half longer than anticipated, granted 30 minutes of which was a cheesy pretzel bite OD nap. It was a great first trip out, we managed to land 2 of the 6 fish hooked and not tip the canoe!
