Thanks to everyone who attended and made the Spey Tying Roundtable a success. The evening was spent in free form tying and question/answer time and tying a few Akroyd Dees. Attached is a picture of one of the results.

The next evening roundtable will be Wednesday March 19th and every 3rd Wednesday of the month after. The roundtable will be free form, q&a, and a little bit of focus on the Willy Gunn Spey.

The Willy Gunn Spey is under development but at the current time the pattern is:
    Alec Jackson Spey Hook, Black
    Black Silk Thread
    Black Spey Hackle
    Black Silk Body
    3 ribs.....
    Gold Oval Tinsel
Orange Silk twisted into a rope the size of the tinsel
Yellow silk twisted into a rope the size of the tinsel.
This way you have three oval ribs next to each other with a band of black between. Spey hackle tight behind the oval tinsel.
Underwing, Golden Pheasant Tippets, back to back, one side stripped if you prefer.
Collar of Guinea dyed Yellow. This gives a hint of yellow but not too much.
    Bronze Mallard Wing.

I am attaching a photo, the photo has a different collar detail.

Since the pattern is in progress I invite you to play with it and bring your own ideas.

    The roundatables are held at
    River Run Anglers
    3946 Tolt Ave
    Carnation WA 98014
    (425) 333-4446

    and run from 6:30-9:00pm
