Guess what I've got to do the next three evenings? Resealing the cones on my 16' NRS Fishcat. Here's the video if anyone wishes to do the same:

I will be spending a week on the Deschutes in early October and don't want any surprises. Did a cone last year and it's not that bad. It's just a PITA.
If you bump these things it breaks the silicon bead loose from the tube and you end up with a slow leak. Bump them too hard (like on a boulder in rapids) the inner cone cracks and you are really SOL.
I carry a spare cone, some 100% silicon adhesive and a patch kit on the boat. The screwed thing about replacing the inner cone is that you have to cut a big slit in the tube to get the old one out and the new one back in, then patch the self inflicted damage. I love my Fishcat but the next set of tubes will be Sotars so this isn't necessary.
