I'm heading over to Lopez island this weekend and I was hoping to get some beach fishing in. I know the island well but I've never fished it. Any recommendation on fishy beaches.
Hmm, I'd love to get any info as well. Have friends with family cabins up there. I've made casts along one of the small private islands up there with no luck. I'd think Lopez would be more likely to hold something?
Never fished Lopez but have taken some family bicycle vacations there. Odlin park (North Island) is the beach I'd aim at. Unless someone here has a more definite rec. Wouldn't go there with a strong North wind.
I would also try Agate Beach County Park and Spencer Spit State Park. I've done a lot of work on Lopez and there is not a lot of public access to the water. In most cases it is private land that has cliffs which end at the waters edge. I have yet to fish those beaches but they offer public access and are nice beaches. Spencer Spit looks like a good place to try. Good luck.
Thanks for the advice, I'll let you know how it turns out.
