    Looks purdy! I really like the look of the cork reel seat. Never owned a rod with slip rings though--do you ever have issues with them loosening on you?

    Matt, I've personally had slip rings come loose over hard wood inserts but they've stayed tight to the reel foot over cork reel seats which have a little "give."

    I haven't had any issues either, but like a wood spacer with rings all you need to do is place a thin piece of craft foam between the reelseat and foot if it's not a tight fit.
