If it gets too hot inland, then head out to the coast!

I'll be checking out a hot surf perch tip from yesterday in about an hour, and paddling tidal creeks and estuaries a couple of mornings this week, looking for searun cutts. Maybe tomorrow at the crack of dawn. Also on Friday, and maybe one day in between. Anybody wanna go for a paddle?
Elk River Challenge human powered boat race this Saturday Aug 1!

    Oops...fixed it!

No surf perch where I was at today, and there was too much gunk and salad to contend with, but I had at least one sculpin on every cast (shake one off, and another would grab on). I even struck out with bait, jigs, and grubs. Only fished for about an hour or so. If the surf perch aren't around, no use flogging the water. It was the Day of the Sculpin! Awesome day, though, and I did get to talk with a beautiful woman I met on the beach! Beats hell outa workin!

Maybe check a smaller Willapa Bay stream early manana (home before noon), and the Elk River Estuary later in the week.
