I am going to have her put it in writing that I get to fish at least once a month, thats all I do right now anyways. There wont be a problem. We have been together for five years so Things wont change that much.

Thanks everyone! To get the different size of font, while you are typing, above the centered, left justify, etc., it says size.

    Curtis,

Have you ever asked her if she's like to fish with you? My wife made a comment that she's like to learn to fly fish a couple years ago. Within a day I had her in a fly shop to buy a complete setup (one I was secretly lusting after, if she didn't like it, I'd inherit), signed her up for a casting class and she's been my fishing partner ever since. Now my only problem is having two of everything, rods/reels/lines/vises/mtying materials etc. That, and when I'm cold, tired and hungry it's a real struggle to get her to quit fishing.

Yes I have been thinking about getting her a setup. She keeps commenting that she never gets to go fishing with me. It is something I would like to enjoy with her.

Does that mean that I should get my wife involved so that we can still go fishing together? Or did my fishing partner become partner's?

Yes you should get your wife involved, no you didnt lose your fishing partner. Now they wont get pissed when we want to go fishing without them, just jealous!

Yeah! Get the wives fishing! (for that matter - get the leggy legal assistant waders and a 7 wt for Winter Steehead)

You guys will laugh like crazy when instead of "what - you're fishing again??" you get "what - you're fishing without me??" That's what happens in our household.

    curtis,

For the honeymoon try to pick a place you have always wanted to fish...for example next june for mine i will be heading to Italy to do some salty flyfishing. That way she can sit in the sun and you can fish. best of both worlds, but she thinks that your really thinking of romance. But then again my future wife knows thats the one of the reasons why were going to the almali coast.

Alaska for the fishing, not for being romantic.
