Got this guy on a herring jig setup near Golden Gardens recently. It pinched one of the hooks. Can't find anything like it in the WDFW crab identification listings.

And, yes, Mumbles. I had considered that it was an Atlantic Salmon.

When I was a kid everyone always called those spider crabs, where they were a frequent nuisance in our crab pots around Des Moines and Redondo. Kelp Crab, huh, interesting. Now I know the real name!

I've always called them spider crabs too, good to know what they are actually called (but I'll probably still call them spider crabs).

First time in forever I've posted a photo of a recent catch of mine. May as well be a gear caught crab, eh?

not on that outing I didn't. flies have been outproducing bait, but there was a nasty side wind that day that was making not hooking myself a challenge.

I don't recommend anyone put this in to a Google search. Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything.

Now I'm expecting my WFF experience to include targeted ads at the top and bottom of this page for medicated creams and hair removal products.

Solid kelp crab. Cabezon love the smaller juvenile kelp crabs.
