I like hosting swaps, quite fun. This is it. Tie something , anything that you would think would catch fish in still waters. Can't be a standard pattern, you have to invent it yourself. Guess I'll call it the new pattern swap. 12 tiers.
Ok, rules, just tie something YOU think will catch trout in still waters. Let your imagination run wild. If you like to tie buggers, leeches, bwo, scuds, just vary your materials from the standard ties.

For any new tiers here be sure to read the fly swap thread above, and make sure to have your name and address on your fly containers.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, now where do I get those root beer colored beads?
I am doing a brown foam damsel nymph. Got 7 tied right now. This one is fished on a sinking line. It floats good so the fly should stay above the snags.
Got Camerons the other day what a nifty tie, he already let the cat out of the bag though. If you don't want to see what you get don't peak at his gallery.
I got creative and incorporated my dogs hair into the fly. Dont worry, shes shedding like crazy so i just pulled a clump of hair off her, so dont call the animal abuse hotline.
The new invent swap has now less than a month to go, hope everyone doesn't wait to the last minute. Just got some liquid lace from Randy and I'm still experimenting. LOL
Got Stephens sweet pattern today, will post a photo tommorrow when I get time. Less than two weeks to go. My pattern is going to use some new tying styles plus a computer throw a way for flash. If I tie it right I'll be pretty bullet proof.
Just as a heads up I'm still in! I had a kid come out of the wife 7 weeks early and I've been pretty busy with that At any rate, I'll be sending out my flies by the deadline
No problem James, congrats on the new fisherperson, got superflys tie today (might need new glasses to tie it on). MNFLY had to drop out due to a short notice of deployment to Iraq (think we can forgive) Will take some photos of Superflys fly tonight, might have to break out the super macro kit.
:thumb: Hey Daryle,
Just like in College, I am squeaking under the due date. They will be in the mail tomorrow. Tied up something simple, unusual, and looking rather tasty. Toe tags include fly name and essential components.
By the way, Congrats James. Better start looking up Playschool fly patterns.....

Could give you the gps cords for holy shit bay, but it's top secret. LOL
Eureka! I finally found a cool use for some "junk" material. It has passed the litmus test of my wife and I'll soon have them out! Hopefully you guys will be impressed as I'm pretty damn proud of the files I'll be sending out!
Mine are done, will post a photo tommorrow, Still waiting for Rory's and the Hog guy from Stanwood, (might have to run down there and help him finish up feeding the sows, James creation is on the way and mine might or might not catch a fish, I still think if I inject cod liver oil instead of mineral oil it might be more enticing to the critters.
Mine are done, I'll mail them tomorrow. I'll ship them next day so they'll be there on time. Sorry, I just got back from a week in New York, fun town. Not a single fly shop that I saw though... very dissapointing.
Mine are finished and ready to mail. I juss gotta get someone to give me a ride to the post office. They will be out tonite or tommorow, probably tonite. I did skip a swap once but i gave notice a month before the due date, besides that i have never skipped out on a swap.
I think the flies are pretty damn good. My dogs hair is sort of a blackish brown blend. She stopped shedding so i had to give her a little hair cut, my mom got pissed off at me for it but it was worth it. Hope they catch some fish for you guys.
No problem guys, decided to start a little fire to stir the pot.
