Fished Pass lake for a few hours on Thursday. It was a nice evening, met a couple other guys as I was setting up and we traded flies (I hope you got your big brown on that white woolly bugger!) I landed 5 and LDRed numerous others. Had some good dry fly action towards the end of the night with lots of duns on the surface. I didn't have any so I tied on my closest match and was immediately rewarded with my first ever brown trout, on a dry fly no less. Pictured below are two of the fish I caught on the dry.
Thanks again for the white woolly bugger. I didn't get a brown but got a few nice fish from it. I stayed in to the night and used the fly i gave you and got 10 fish in a hour.
Nice! I wanted to stay in to the night but I forgot my headlamp and my wife was back at camp waiting for me for dinner so I had to head out before I was really ready...
That fly you gave me, do you fish it on a sinking or floating line? I'm curious because it looks like it would float with the spun deer hair.
Floating line and you can troll or strip both work well. In the winter it is KILLER!
