I went to pass lake on tuesday it rained most of the day. i caught 4 browns casting a minnow pattern to the shoreline. also caught 3 rainbows on small blood worms and 1 rainbow on a dry fly. I was curious if there was anything we could do fix the toxic alge bloom at pass. I am not sure who to contact but there has be way i would be willing to help in any way. pass lake is such a great lake and i would hate to see it the toxic alge take over the lake.
The bloom is what it is, and doesn't last that long. you could start with WDFW - but, what do you expect them to do? Lakes have natural cycles, like turn over. How do you stop turn over? Which can be a pain. I would suggest that you fish those periods without algae or turn over if it is a concern to you. I still have stains on my boat from my last outing to Pass, which doesn't bother me a bit. I have alkali on my boats after trips to E. WA, change the pH in the lakes to prevent that? I think not.

Report the "pea soup" bloom and have the lake to yourself. Don't try to over analyze stuff, just go and fish.
