Ira, I dont know why they have that rule in place. But I have noticed that all of the fly only lakes that I have fished are no motor rules. And of course I follow every rule and law out there!!!! .....................not!

I'm still looking at the calendar for a date, but I plan on doing a free chironomid class. Not that I'm willing to claim that I'm an expert, but I have patterns that work and I think I have enough knowledge to be dangerous. One day tying and info, the next day out on the lake fishing. I'm thinking that Pass might just be the lake I'll fish on for it. Most likely looking at the end of March.

    Ira..

Ira, guys learning this stuff don't need the world's foremost authority, they need a good teacher. That's you!

It's stuff like this that makes this little community something special...I say do it for sure :thumb:

It would be a county ordnance as the county controls the surface on behalf of the state.

Bummed I missed the fly tying fun!! Issac -- The flies were a hybrid of Barr's Bouface/Slumpbuster using Brown and Black Bunny strips (regular cut, not zonker style). I guess you you could call it a "Conehead Face Buster" or "SlumpFace" :) I know I tied a few 'by the book' then improvised from there.

The patterns are available at Charlies Flybox:

    Bouface

    Slumpbuster

Looking forward to my next trip to the lake! (Looking forward to warmer weather, for sure!)

Kvan: Yes you are right however, one can pick up one book and then another and they can be totally contradictory. There are many ways to learn:
    1- Read a book
    2- reearch on the internet
    3- ask questions
    4- observe and do

So yes, you are right, answers can be found in books. Answers can also be found asking questions too. Remember, seeking answers is not about only looking in one place.... it's utilizing all of your resources to come up with different OPINIONS and then seeing what works best for you.
