This is defiantly the time of year for big SRC, the average size caught becomes much bigger. You'll only start seeing larger ones in October because it's their last chance at a big meal before winter. So much to do this time of year. Throw grasshoppers and streamers for trout on the yakima, fight huge SRC in the puget sound, or target giant coho on your favorite beach. Love this time of year, and it only gets better when the chum salmon start swimming by the beaches before they reach their rivers.

The net is a Fisknat, local guy in Tacoma builds them. Sold at all the local fly shops, Puget Sound Fly Co, Gig Harbor, and Patricks anyway. Glad I've got it, makes release and photos a lot easier.

I love it. That first cutty is perfect in every way. When they reach that size they have a different build.

I was out scouting for salmon yesterday and saw a SRC that was easily 20+ inches! I was at an elevated position and initially thought it was a smaller coho but after getting a better look it was a SRC. Then I saw a few other average ones in the same area which further proved the point. Wish I would have been able to go fish for it but I couldn't get to where it was.

mtskibum16, thats a pretty cool way to scout... I would love to be able to watch fish from above, must be a pretty unique location.
