    Thanks

I grew up a few miles from Hayward WI and used to fish for muskies and pike in the 70's and early 80's

Look up the 6 time world record holder, John Propp. He had some really basic patterns that worked for him up there. One was just four strips of saddle hackle, two red and two white with a Grizzly hackle wrapped at the eye.

Not sure if you can still get his videos or not. He once caught a 11 lb 12 oz pike up there on 2 lb tippet, an a 15 lb on 4 lb. I know that seems impossible, but if you are going for a record up there, you have to pay for an official to be in your boat to witness the catch.

Google for his flies, they may be out there still.
