    Hi All,

Some of you may remember me from back when I lived in Seattle. Been on the East coast for far too long now but I'll be in Portland for work at the end of Aug. I'd like to make the most of the trip by squeezing some fishing in ahead of my meeting. I'll have all day sat and most of sun (8/30, 8/31).

Having been away for so long I have completely lost the fish cycles and rhythms of the place. I'll do my own re-research but I thought I'd also solicit suggestions for a river or two to focus on. I'm most interested in a biggish and/or coastal river fix because that is what I miss the most. Slight preference for not catching steelhead, over catching lots of small trouts.

    What do you think?
Deschutes? (somehow I've never fished it. What section is best at the end of aug?)
OR coastal rivers? (what is this time of year like for summer steel odds?)
Umpqua? (realistic for a day and a half?)

    or in WA,
    Klickitat?
    Lewis?
    Wind?

PMs welcome of course. Fishing buddies also welcome if anyone is free and in the area that weekend.

    Many thanks,
    Eric
