What's pedagogical mean? That's a pretty big word. I try to mostly use small words so as to make my posts more readily understood.

BTW, thanks for the kind words.

Don't have a dog in this fight but it does seem odd that this thread isn't in the Conservation section. I mean, if the skagit returns are dwindling why aren't conservationista's demanding no fishing ever... for wild steelhead? They are a limited resource and catch & release kills some. Just stirring the pot but maybe it needs to be stirred. I do understand the science wrt carrying capacity but don't understand how the conservationista's can ever allow C&R to occur?

Because most of us that post in the steelhead forum have most of you that post in the conservation forum on ignore.

That sub forum was a great concept but after a few days it quickly turned into a chest beating holier-than-thou clusterfuck between a few individuals. It was highlighted by a guide equating his use and profiting off a river to a trucker driving on i5. That still stands as the most absurd comment I've ever read on this website.

An oblique reference to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is all you got? Is that supposed to pass for witty banter or reparte'? Do you, or can you, ever contribute anything other than wasted bandwidth? With contributions like yours, you come across as a waste of oxygen in real life.

Speaking of oxygen, for both our sakes, I do hope you got some while on your recent trip.

Back to the intent of this thread. I received a message today that WDFW has a call with NOAA October 30th to get an update on the plan. The last bit that I heard pointed towards approval in time for a season next spring, with that approval possibly coming in November.

So, the next big hurdle is to get WDFW to fund the monitoring that will be required by NOAA. Barkdull has indicated to me that he can't make it happen with his current staff, not even close!

There is a Commissioners meeting scheduled for December 8-9. We need to press our case and lobby for this funding to be found. If ever we needed more voices at a meeting, this is that meeting. It's a simple process and we can use every voice available.

I'll update folks on what transpires the 30th.

By next spring do you mean 2019 or do you mean this coming spring? I will try to make the meeting. Thank you for the update.
