Sounds like the usual crowd will be there; meeting for usual post-meeting breakfast?
Sounds good guys. I need to make sure it's cool with my special lady friend. It should be.
Now that sounds like a plan!
Things with NOAA seem to be on track for a 30 day comment period beginning Dec. 1st and with a decision mid January. At this point there doesn't seem to be any snafus in the works to delay it.
That's cutting it close! Which makes our visit to the Commission even more critical. With WDFW in the hole financially it's going to be a tall order to get this funded if the dollars aren't pigeon holed away somewhere. Brett will need a few weeks to get folks hired and in place. The sooner he knows it's a go funding wise, the sooner he can act.
We need one more big day in Olympia to push this over the edge!
Leland, do you need a sign?
Pretty sure I have a few left over in the attic . . .
Pat's play on Sunday, Brady won't care if you're gone on sat Charles.
8th and 9th is Fri/Sat. Will an agenda be posted to show which day this topic will be discussed? Can't make Fri.
This would be a non-agenda item. The meetings begin at 8 AM, sometimes 8:30. There will be a call to order and then open public input. The open public input is when we do our business. You need to arrive early and sign up so you will be called on to speak when the meeting starts. You can do this on Friday or Saturday - or both! We are usually done by 9:30 and head to breakfast from there.
As we get nearer to the meeting dates the agenda will be posted with the start time on this page:
And I'll let folks know the time here also.
Kerry and I usually leave Sedro Woolley at 5 AM.
No pain, no gain.
I'll be there on the 9th cause I want to be back fishing on the Skagit/Sauk in a few months.
Seriously, I see drones being a tremendous tool for river checkers. If we could combine the visual observance of say 2 fishers from a 300 ft. Altitude , with an electronic read of an approval for the day's fishing- you'd really have something. The fisherman could carry the chipped card that could be like the way your purchase at a retail store is scanned as you pass through to be sure it isn't being stolen. Putting the technology together has probably been done already. I'll look into it.
Eagles / drone conflict could be an issue in the winter - a solvable issue I'm sure.
Regardless- I'd volunteer for river/ fisher checker on the skagit for say- 5 days each month of Feb thru April.
Wife is cool with it along with me taking her car. I am assuming that I have Kerry and Wayne. Any other Hamsters or Skagiteers?
I'm still in...I'm thinking we need to plan for an 8 am meeting start just to be safe.
