It is true.
The place sucks. Believe everything you've heard.
The ferry ride was expensive, no fish, traffic is bad, lots of people and the scenery is terrible.
Stay away for your own good......

I’m coming back to the homeland this weekend. Locked and loaded. Performing nightly salmon-summoning shamanism and other fish karma related activities.
Took a leak about that time before heading out, heard a splash behind me. Gave it a few casts last twenty minutes turned out grander( I mean "sucked") more then the first three hours
Fishing an area 8 beach on Friday the sound looked like it was humpy season. Boats and boats. Even a Navy Cutter passing through.
Nice wind blowing & light rain but the only thing swimming near by (too close) were a couple of sea lions. Heard it was slow that day. Read some good reports from the Sekiu area so just wait and see.
As soon as the sun dipped the coho started showing and managed one bright hen about 6 lbs with steel blue shoulders and a wisp of pink along the lateral line she was almost as beautiful as the sunset.... September rules
that freighter put out 3 sets of waves. the first set were huge. I was within a 1/4 mile of it (on the water) when it came thru.
who else was out in a boat off west point yesterday morning? were those two big massive grey boats - tribe boats? they were huge
what is worse, freighter wakes or cruise ship wakes? I have the most trouble with cruise ship wakes when the ship passes close...feels like the boat gets fully vertical. (16 foot boat) freighter wakes are a bit more gentle (rolling) but they don't dissipate as fast as cruise ship wakes.
The view of the sound coming down to my place tonight certainly sucked.
