    That was a great story.
In it you used the date May 18, 1981, the day St. Helens blew.
I was fishing a lake in North Idaho near Sandpoint that day with my 7 year old son. We had a great time together but couldn't figure out why it was getting so dark and dusty in the middle of the afternoon.
Time sure flies by. Now I am looking forward to taking his 4 year old son out fishing.
Thanks for sharing your story with us.

:thumb: Keep it up :thumb: my kid is now 12 ("knows" everything) & still remembers our 'adventures' at that age. Becareful, he may end up telling you "dad, I love you too much" (like mine does, too fewer times for my taste).

    Regards.

Actually 1980, not 1981 on St. Helens. Who will ever forget where they were....

Great story. I have a daughter coming in a couple of weeks and I can only hope that we can have a similar experience. Thanks for sharing.

You are absolutely right, my wife (at the time) was 8 months pregnant with our 2nd son. She was also with us fishing, well, watching anyway.
