I need to replace a damaged stripping guide on a rod. What is the best way to remove the existing epoxy over the wraps so I can re-wrap in a new stripping guide?
    Thanks

Take a razor blade and carefully cut the thread on top of the guides foot, then peel with your thumbnail.

In addition to cutting the thread/finish (you do not have to go real deep) I use a little heat from a hair dryer to soften. It will peal right off. You also might cut a line at the outside edge as well or you can clean up after you get the thread off.
