I don't have any grievances today - but there's still time to get worked up about something!
My professor in college could do math in his head and do it faster than anyone he had ever taught in his 30 + years...that was until he ran into me and my Texas Instrument (vintage 1980's model)...
ps: I had a grad student for recitation...he was a math whiz kid. Problem was, he couldn't speak the English language nor teach very well...I suspect the language barrier had something to do with it.
Did you just go "third person" on us?
Who do you think you are, Rickey Henderson?!
HP12-C ? ..that was a great calculator.
Prof' doing it "in his head", still won though didn't he?
Won??...not sure it was a contest.
He did comment... "Are you a piano player?" My reply... "No"...and I showed him how two thumbs could "shred" a calculator.
He was the BEST, and only the BEST math teacher I ever had, because he could answer the "why" questions to solving math equations, so that everyone could understand it.
I'll have to find my old calculator, to confirm the model...
Some of the early hp calculator couldn't do squat by today's standards. They were heavy but are worth as much today as when new. Gold circuitry.
I still have and use my HP-41CV. The card reader went to that great electronics grave in the sky however... that was a very difficult day .
All my threads that have gone south at least none of them have gone into calculator discussion...
There's always a FIRST...
What are your thoughts on the HP12-C?
It can't be any worst then crabs????
I think we are about to head for the nether region.
Eleven pages of this giant circle jerk! Hope the rain stops and rivers drop, SOON!
This thread is more fun than fishing.
This one should be good too!
