We got to Chelan at 4:30, ate and the kid and I headed to Roses. She didn't want to use the boat so we fished from shore. I saw a couple of Perch on the reeds, but otherwise a skunking. We then scouted Wapato, Dry and Antilon. The last looked interesting and we'll try it and Roses in the boat tomorrow. We've got fly rods with three types of lines plus spinning rods so our odds are good. (The girl is convinced that we'll catch bows, browns, tigers, bass, gills and perch.)

Awesome Patrick! I am interested in how Antilon fishes in the spring. The day I fished it in the Fall there were still lots of aquatic weeds near the boat launch shallows and the visibility was very good.

    Best of luck

Woke up to whitecaps rolling down Chelan. I guess we'll head up there and see if it's a little more sheltered.

Antilon was a bit of wind tunnel, and we decided not to try it. What a nice place, I'll definitely go again.

Roses was white capping, but we got out long enough for my daughter to get a feisty 14" bow on a olive ruby eye leech. The trip back up the lake with water spraying into the Zodiac was not comfortable, but fun for the kid.

Bummer! Sorry to hear the wind changed your plans, but glad your daughter had fun on the splash mountain- like boat ride.

I hope to make a trip over to this area in the fall, so if schedules align, maybe we fish Antillon together.

Keep me in the loop. I'm close enough for a day trip.

Patrick, if you really want to get your daughter into LOTS of stockers, and I do mean LOTS, come up and fish Beehive or Clear Lake above Wenatchee. Beehive is 13 acres and was stocked with over 18,750 trout! That's over 1400/acre. Little 5 acre Clear Lake got 1600/trout per acre. The put and take lakes here have to be about the most heavily stocked in the state. It's hard not to catch something! They fish well all summer as they switch to C&R July 1 when they get an additional stocking. Beehive sits below Mission at 4000' while Clear is on the Heights at 3000'+ and are pretty little lakes, albeit manmade. Both are surrounded by pines and make a great after work trip to escape the summer heat as it will be much cooler up there. Both get tigers and they come up in the shallows in the evening and aggressively attack everything.

I'll second that! I fished it on Monday and C&Rd over 30 in 2 1/2 hours!

On Roses lake is there a specific area of the lake people fish? I wanna try my hand there at Chironomid fishing...unless Tigers like something else? I will be there Memorial Day weekend. Any tips would be appreciated!

Fishin was slow for us. Only went out today (Monday). Gorgeous day. Few blue gill on some olive buggers was good enough for us. The day was more about an inaugural trip for a rebuilt motor and fixed up trailer, plus a newbies first fish. Good time.
