The Columbia is the most underrated fly fishing river we have in the state, IMO. I encounter hatches like that throughout the summer, usually right before lights out. A little over a week ago I lucked onto a similar swarm, and landed six goood fish. The next night I took enlightened to experience my favorite hatch, but the wind(or something) killed the hatch.
