I will be installing a Scotty glue on mount in a few days and wonder what the proper protocol is. Some say deflate the boat and others say blow it up hard first. I'm sure a lot of folks have done this-which way is best?
I always have the boat fully inflated and have had great results. I wouldn't install them if the temperature is much below 60 F. Two coats on both raft and mount: let the first dry completely and wait until the second coat is at least 'tacky', but not dry. Mock up the patch and rod holder with some tape first: an inch either way or a few degrees makes a huge difference.
