I'll take your word for it.
Tom Flores ruined Rick Mirer.
Am I remembering this correctly? Didn't we take Rick Mirer with the 2nd pick in the draft? Patriots took Drew Bledsoe with the first pick? Classic Seahawks in the Ken Behring years. Couldn't even win the worst-team flag.
Trent Dilfer. The only QB less deserving of a SB ring than Terry Bradshaw.
Clipboard Jesus, Charlie Whitehurst.
And let's not forget Brock Huard and John Friesz
That McGwire guy sucked. I will also admit - as I know some of you could as well - that I was not behind the Pete Carol hire at all. What the fuck do I know?
Kelly fucking Stoffer - I totally forgot about that guy. Hawks were sucking bad in those days
Jon Kitna. I kinda liked Jon. Tacoma boy made good. Never really a quality starter, but he turned into a solid backup.
Won 4 superbowls calling his own plays, I think he deserved it.
If I had to pick my favorite all time Seahawk, it would be Cortez Kennedy. He was the Felix Hernadez of the Seahawks. Among the best players at any position of his generation. But he played for some shitty, shitty Seahawks teams. That list of QBs reminded me of just how bad the Seahawks were for a long time.
There are any number of guys on this version of the Seahawks who would make a good favorite player for any Hawks fan. I'm holding on to Cortez, though.
There are some great modern ones
Earl Thomas made Ed Reed fade quickly
Bobby Wagner quieted the Kuechly talk
Kam brought Kenny Easley thoughts back
Lynch brought unforgettable swagger
Wilson eased our bitterness from SB XL and is the most talented QB this franchise has known.
Sherman. Love him or not, he is an incredible talent and competitor and his heart is always with this team.
This squad has COMPLETELY changed the national view of this organization that spent the prior 30 years floundering.
My favorite photo this week!
Just watched the Steelers game. Even down 17-0, I figured they were going to win. It's that kind of a franchise. An elite franchise.
Under Paul Allen, the Seahawks are an elite franchise. Been to the Super Bowl 3 times in the last 12 years. You can pretty much pencil them into the playoffs at the start of every season. When they take the field we expect them to win. They were underdogs yesterday. Fuck that.
They're not the Patriots. Being a Patriots fan is like being a Yankees fan. It's inherited wealth. I just looked it up. Since 1993 - 24 years - they've had 2 quarterbacks, Drew Bledsoe and Tom Brady. They've had 3 head coaches, two of whom were Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick. How do you blow that?
Still, the Hawks are a great team to root for now. Wasn't always that way. I rooted for them anyway. Losses hurt more now, but loses hurt when you expect to win every game. It's better this way.
