Are there any camping opportunities (tent) near Amber Lk? I want to avoid camping near any rail lines (like Cheney). Dont mind paying, as I recall there might be something around WIlliams or Badger.

There is lots of BLM land out that way, and as I recall, you can camp on BLM land unless otherwise noted. I might be wrong, but no one has stopped me yet.....

Williams Lake is your best bet and also the closest. Might want to call one of the resorts to see if they are open yet since those lakes don't open till the lowland lake open on April 30th.

I'd call Williams Lake resort. I think Klink's (the damn fine restaurant there) opens a month before the general lake opener, so I'd bet the campground is open as well. It's only 5-10 minutes from Amber. The nearest BLM land would be at Fishtrap Lake and Hog Canyon Lake, about 20 minutes away.
