TFO Mini Mag 8' 4pc is what i use out of the kayak. The lighter model is listed as 6 - 8wt. I use a 6wt Wulff Ambush and it throws the poppers and rabbit leeches under docks and into other tight places pretty well.

Might take a look at the st. croix mojo. Lightest they come in is a 7 though. Not a bad thing. Toss some bigger flies. Might even consider an 8. Won't break the bank at $150 new and you might be able to find one on the used market. I have been searching for the scott warmwater special in a 6wt. Apparently like winning the lottery. There is a guy selling some new in tube fenwick fenglass 7'9" 6wts on the fiberglass flyrodders forum. supposed to be a little faster for glass and they are 3pc. rods. good luck in your search

Fenwick ff806. A rod from the 70s, still kicking ass.
    Sorry, two piece.

One of the shorter Redington Predator bass rods might fit the bill.

The new Fenwick Fenglass rods fit the bill. A little quicker action than most glass.
