Fished Teal, with the curmudgeonly Dryflylarry, yesterday between noon and two and can report: 40 degree water, one bump between the two of us, a few midges (looked to be between sizes 18 and 44), a couple of rises, 5-6 bank fishers throwing who-knows-what and two freezing old men getting off the lake at about two o'clock and limping to their cars........

In retrospect, we should have arrived (not left) at two...

Dryflylarry, as we caught absolutely nothing, probably won't object to this report....

Thanks for the report Ron. Glad you guys got out. White leeches crawled across the bottom are my standby there this time of year when nothing much is happening

fished a north sound lake today with similar results except i had no bumps. very small mids came off for about an hour. one fish swirled behind me. could not get him interested in my mid. frozen feet and off by noon. more sun and warmer temps should get something going. no luck with my leech on bottom.

At least you two curmudgeons were out fishing while others among us toiled away our time.

You're a better man than I am, Ron. I used to tie size 44's, but it's so hard to find sugar ants with good hackle capes now . . .

I be talking midges. Some of them are so damn small there is no way to imitate them. And, the smaller ones seem to be more common.

That is a pretty useless report Ron. It may be time to go to the "dark side" with these "white leeches"...

Is "white leech" a euphemism for 'night crawler that has been in the water too long' ? :D
