What is the preferred wood for smoking pink salmon? Also, I have been offered oak chips for the purpose of smoking pinks and have never heard of anyone using oak for smoking anything, comments please.

That is not always true though, I have smoked with Dried Cedar and it was nice... Tasted alot like a hamster cage. I think I might try Wormwood on Chums next year because the only way I would eat a Chum is if there were a possibility that I might become intoxicated enough to not realize what I had just done.

I like alder but when I want to mix it up a bit, I'll use cherry. Reminds me that I need to go get some more.
