I shouldn't have used the glove, even though they were fingerless ones and I was holding the tail in my fingers...and the glove was wet..I wasn't thinking..it was freaking cold in the am's after getting the glove wet they were useless to wear anyways..so should have taken them off ..

As far as overplayed or spent that's bullshit..The water is very clear, the fish were in water and I laid the rod down and took a quick shot, measurement and released them... none needed "reviving" they shot out of there like a bat out of hell...for a guy who's handled thousands you honestly don't know what your talking about Lance, if your making a remark like that...these fish fought hard but like so many wild steelhead on rivers everywhere I've fished, it's almost like they know your going to let them go and settled right down so you can get the fly out and send them on their journey...

While it may look like I have them on rocks I was holding them off...that said, I am always learning, sometimes what you think is a good spot may show otherwise in a picture..I held the fish in question briefly for that shot as it was a fatty and a really nice fish....all of them were ....no fish splashed or banged itself...I released the largest fish of my trip without a pic. as I couldn't bring it in anywhere safely without it bashing itself...

I apologize for showing you these pic's..I thought maybe someone would like to see what a wild steelhead looked like that readily came to a swung fly..instead of all the b.s. I read on here at times about how that can't happen...

I was also showing off Mr. Olson's reel that I used on most of the fish I caught, and how amazing it was to fish as it worked like a dream....also used my 6wt and taupo, and my bob clay..but the boo only got a tap that day...

    It won't happen again....

WI were curious as to what type of reel that was. I asked SG after we stopped and looked at the black bear. Beutiful piece of equipment.

I saw that bear again further down. It looked right at me, fortunately I was on the water and it was on the shore. Pretty cool anyhow. Best of luck.

    Go Sox,

Whatever you think, man. I just usually don't have to defend the pics I take of fish on "rivers evrywhere". I like a good release shot anyway.

He didn't have to defend shit until you came along and question the pics. Golfman then gave "you" the courtesy of an explantion. Now you take his courtesy and call it a defense. Whatever you think, man.

    Bring on the fish porn.

If you are going to post wild fish on the rock pics expect flak. Thats a no brainer...don't tell us you didn't touch the fish with only your fingers while wearing fingerless gloves, thats just stupid.

Steelheaders are a passionate bunch and when someone boners out the passionate will deservedly club you. Best be wearing your big boy pants and call it a rite of passage as you just learned something even though you have read it and been told it a hundred times. Smack. Doubt you will being putting wild steelhead on the rocks and photo documenting it again...

Remember your first T steel and how I was in knee deep water the whole time tailing it for you, you know there was a reason for it.....

Don't feel bad, I have pics of steelhead on the rocks with big weighted butt ugly flies hanging out of their yaps and I was proud of those fish at the time too...Take your lessons and let those pics be part of the path...
