Spey Tying Roundtable

Aaron and I will be hosting a monthly Spey Tying Roundtable on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. We will meet at River Run Anglers at 3946 Tolt Ave, Carnation WA. It will run from 6:30-9:00pm. No experience necessary. Bring simple or complicated questions, new materials or your latest pattern. Bring a vise and tie up a fly or two while we chat.

Best of all it is FREE!
Donations for Washington Trout will be accepted

Color me there!!

Just to be clear, the first roundtable will be Jan. 15th followed by Feb. 19th. Is this correct? My Purple Haze flies are getting a little better when I compare the final product with yours. Still having a problem with the Mallard wing at the end. :beathead I think I have to order another matched set from you so I can finished tying the 10 Purple Haze flies. I tried tying the Purple Peril last night as well and was curious about what matierial you used for the tail. :hmmm I was going from the picture on your web site because I couldn't find instructions for tying this fly on your site. The roundtable would be very helpful because the more I do this the more questions I have.

Take care,

P.S. Thanks for the help on my Spey reel selection!! :thumb Soon I'll buy the rod and line. I'd be all set by now if they weren't so expensive $$$$$ I might have to wait a month or so before I actually cast my first Spey rod. :bawling
Correct on the dates for the roundtable, every 3rd Wednesday.

In the picture the fly has a tail. Traditionally it is red hackle fiber. I don't put a tail on mine. In fact I rarely use a tail on any of my flies. Alec Jackson convinced me that the tail really didn't matter much in the scheme of things.

You can get another set at River Run Anglers on Saturday when you come by to cast some rods. Please confirm when you are coming so I can make sure to meet you there to provide some instruction.
